Spring Trends: Flowy Pastels (Awesome For Prom)

I am so glad pastels are here to stay for Spring 2013.  Like never before, we've seen mint on everything the past few seasons from pants to shoes to every single fashion accessory imaginable!  This season,  emphasis on pastels can be seen on gorgeous dresses in soft fabrics and I am definitely LOVING it.  I call it flowy pastels. To me, the trend evokes feelings of calmness and ethereal bliss.  Now, who does not want to feel relaxed in this crazy busy world? I hope that this trend spreads immediately so I can relax my mind when I look at the fashion around me:) Well, here goes my picks for this trend.  These are expensive gowns but with RentTheRunway.com, non-celebs like us can now avail of these designer pieces by renting them at a fraction of the cost!

All Saints: Muted Colors that Speak Volumes

Amidst the colorful Vegas background, inside the chic Cosmopolitan hotel, I stumbled upon All Saints,a boutique that carries clothes with muted color schemes and yet, the designs spoke volumes to me.  The pieces they carry were easy and yet looked very put together.  They have very fashion-forward pieces and the styling combines flirty with edgy.  I saw soft feminine dresses styled with edgy leather jackets.  If you look at the boutique from the outside, beyond the facade of old sewing machines piled up on top of each other, there really wouldn't be any colors other than the neutral shades that would pop to invite you to come in, but the very intriguing design outside would make you want to check out what the store has inside and once you're in, you would just covet every piece they have.  That's how you can tell a good design from the rest in that great ones don't have to be colorful.  The design will speak for itself.
Too bad I already did my shopping the day before. With the costly pieces, and this being a serendipitous boutique discovery,  I wasn't able to nab any of the clothes but next time I'm in Vegas, I would certainly skip all the boutiques at the Fashion Show mall and save all my money to get a few pieces from this one of a kind, fashion-forward,boutique.

Boutique Spotlight: Mad About ModCloth

Hey there fashionistas!  It's relaxation time for me and that means I get to blog!!! woohoo!!
I just wanna share with you an online boutique I recently fell in love with not only because of their gorgeous clothes but also because of the success story behind it ( It started from a college dorm room into a successful business with 275 employees and with locations in three major cities, New York, Los Angeles and Pittsburgh)
This boutique is ModCloth.  I'm sure everyone's heard about it especially if you're into vintage.  They have amazing dresses and even for people like me who are into trends, I was still able to find clothes that appealed to my modern taste;)  They even have this segment where their customers get to be the buyers by voting for a certain design!  Amazing idea!
So, here are my personal picks from the ModCloth website.  As we all know, fashion is in the eye of the beholder so my picks may not be the same as yours but I'm sure if you visit their website, there will be ones that will pique your interest too.  Modcloth also has unique accessories that are great for giving, or simply to own as conversation starters.  Check out the ModCloth website and be inspired by the fashion as well as the amazing success story of the entrepreneurs behind it.
