I've always wondered whether it is a fashion faux pas to wear white after Labor Day. This fashion "rule" is said to date back to to the 1800's when some rich snobby women decided to make it a rule of fashion to set them apart from the not so wealthy. In the modern times, wearing white was made a fashion "taboo" after labor day because the day after labor day signifies end of summer fashion, and white is a summery color. Because I am such a fashion rebel and I dare to break all rules in the name of fashion, I want to be in good company when I do it(or risk looking stupid by myself). So here are the fashion authorities, that I wanna break this old fashion rule with:
Kim Kardashian, October 2011
Zoe Saldana sporting white jeans in the winter
Jlo, a notorious' Post Labor Day White" rebel
First Lady, Michelle Obama Inauguration 2008
Rachel Zoe November, 2011
Coco Chanel known for her year round white
So wear white after labor day, if you want to, my dear fashionistas. Don't worry becoming a fashion "rebel" by doing so. Remember, you're in good company and the very best at that.
